WHO I CAN HELP

It's really important, but not always easy, to choose the right therapist. So, if after reading this section, you'd like to meet me and get a feel for what it would be like for us to work together, click HERE to book a FREE 30-minute consultation.

I work with a broad range of clients, including people looking for support relating to:

  • anxiety

  • depression

  • bereavement / loss

  • overwhelming life circumstances

  • traumatic experiences

  • relationship difficulties

  • stress management

  • anger management

  • lack of confidence / low self-esteem / self-criticism

  • life transitions

  • personal / professional development

Perhaps you feel stuck and don't know exactly what it is that's preventing you from living the way you'd like to, or maybe you feel you know exactly what it is you'd like to address and change, but just don't know where to begin. It may be that you feel the need to tackle some long-standing issues, or perhaps it's current challenges, recent stresses or future-based anxieties which are troubling you. It could, of course, also be a combination of all of these things.

HOW I CAN HELP

Whatever your reason for seeking support, my aim will be to quickly establish a sense of trust and collaboration between us, so that you feel safe, comfortable and relaxed about talking to me openly and so that together we can find ways for you to move forwards, to grow, to bring about change.

As an integrative counsellor and coach, I tailor my practice to suit your individual needs, drawing upon a range of strategies, always in agreement with you and in line with your preferences. Who we are and the way we experience life is different for each of us and, because of this, the kind of support we need at challenging times differs from person to person.

WHAT WE WILL DO

Our work together may involve exploring your past and/or present experiences, finding out about how these impact your life now. We will consider your feelings, thoughts and behaviours and explore ways to help you to understand and work towards finding ways to thrive.

Our work may involve learning new strategies and techniques or developing new ways of thinking to help you manage the things you find difficult. And it may also involve goal orientated or solution focused work to help you to move forwards.

a little more About me

MY EXPERIENCE

For many years I worked in a range of educational settings guiding adults and young people to achieve personal and professional development through learning. I often found myself supporting them in times of personal difficulty or crisis and enjoyed collaborating closely with them, assisting their discovery of ways to move positively through those challenging moments.

I decided to undertake further professional training and I now enjoy working in counselling and coaching where the focus of my work is more explicitly on supporting individuals in times of difficulty, crisis, challenge, or change and where I help people to find ways to thrive, to remove personal barriers to growth, or to identify and fulfil their aspirations.

I have worked for a large GP surgery and currently work as a Priory Healthcare therapist as well as having my own private practice.

MY TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS

I hold a PG Diploma in Integrative Counselling & Coaching from the University of East London. I chose this particular qualification since it aligns well with my personal belief that wellbeing and growth or progress go hand in hand.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy [membership no: 388097]

I engage in regular professional development activities, keeping my practice up-to-date and relevant so as to best meet the needs of all my clients. In line with BACP requirements, I receive regular supervision from an accredited BACP supervisor to ensure my work is ethical and that I too am adequately supported in what can inevitably sometimes be an emotionally challenging work environment.

what people say

testimonial #1

Glennis has a great way of helping me create those light bulb moments. 100% recommended!

testimonial #2

I just feel so lucky that I have got to work with Glennis; she immediately put me at ease and I just felt positive about our interactions, which felt natural, in spite of the unnatural situation that therapy proceeds from. It's testament to her being such a professional. She is also kind, patient, and practical. Who knew that therapy could be fun? I will be forever grateful for the opportunity and the help. It's a cliché, but true; I've been on a journey, and she's helped me find a way forward.

testimonial #3

I wasn't sure where to start with therapy, I was quite nervous about it, but Glennis kindly led me to make revelations about my behaviour, my past experiences and how to take positive actions to relieve my anxiety and other things I struggled with.
Her patience and calm approach made it easy to open up and find the source of areas I was struggling with. With her guidance I've managed to make daily changes to my life that are already making a massive difference.
I came away from each session with Glennis feeling positive and as though I was moving in the right direction.

testimonial #4

Caring and knowledgeable; Glennis is a respite and great support to me.
